What is the Child Counseling process?
In the first session our therapist will meet with the child’s parent to gather helpful information for the child’s treatment. The therapist will complete an assessment and collaborate with you in creating goals for future sessions. Our therapists recognize the importance of having parents involved in the counseling process and always maintain open communication and provide ongoing feedback. As treatment progresses, you and your therapists can discuss treatment goals and whether moving to bi-weekly sessions or terminating therapy is the next step.
