Courtney People, AMFT

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Supervised by Leilani Mitchell, LMFT – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #127220

Seeking therapy is no small task. I have deep respect for the vulnerability it takes to begin this process. Life can be filled with uncertainty, pressure, and experiences that are difficult to make sense of on your own. It can also hold stories, memories, and emotions that have gone unheard for far too long and deserve space to be explored with compassion and support.

I am an attachment- and trauma-informed relational therapist. My approach is centered on creating a collaborative, culturally sensitive, and emotionally safe environment where you can explore your experiences, relationship patterns, and life transitions with care and curiosity. I believe healing happens within the context of meaningful relationships, and I strive to meet each client with authenticity, empathy, and respect for their unique lived experience.

In our work together, I aim to support greater self-discovery, emotional clarity, and self-compassion while making room for complexity, new perspectives, and growth. Therapy can be a place to slow down, navigate life’s many twists and turns, and make meaning of your experiences while developing new ways of relating to yourself and others. My hope is that you leave each session feeling seen, understood, and better equipped to move through life in ways that align with your values and goals.

I enjoy working with clients of various backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, individuals, couples, and families. My areas of interest include family and interpersonal relationship dynamics, neurodiversity-affirming care, major life transitions, adverse childhood experiences, academic stressors, anxiety, depression, grief and ambiguous loss, and adverse religious experiences.
